MINDFULNESS-BASED COGNITIVE THERAPY (MBCT)

MBCT is a therapy developed by Steven Hayes, among others. Mindfulness is a means of treating disorders such as depression, anxiety or panic attacks with the aid of acceptance. You learn to accept negative thoughts or feelings for what they are, instead of avoiding or repressing them. You learn to connect with positive emotions and shift your attention focus to other things, thus preventing negative thoughts from dominating.
